1967 GIBSON J-160E SUNBURST ACOUSTIC ELECTRIC GUITAR

Description

This instrument is a Gibson J-160E model acoustic-electric flattop guitar, made in the year 1967, serial number 064269 . It is in excellent condition. The finish shows only small surface scratches. I'm told that the neck needs a few turns to maximize the action. It conforms to the typical specifications of the model for the period in which it was made with 16” wide slope-shouldered dreadnought-type body, laminate spruce top with sunburst finish and ladder-bracing, laminated mahogany sides, solid mahogany back, tortoiseshell grain pickguard, multi-ply soundhole rosette, “upper-belly” Brazilian rosewood bridge with adjustable-height saddle and two mother-of-pearl dot inlays, white bridge pins, one P-90 single-coil pickup (mounted in the neck position), two gold-colored reflector-top control knobs, mahogany neck, classic “open-book” peghead shape, pearloid “Gibson” logo and crown peghead inlays, rosewood fingerboard (15 frets clear of the body) with pearloid trapezoidal inlays and single-ply white binding, multi-ply white binding on body top edge, and single-ply white binding on body back edge.
