  • Condition: I have searched every inch of this truck looking for inconsistencies in the story of the truck. I purchased it from a car ‘flipper’ in Reno. He stated it was a one owner truck. So i have made every effort to prove him wrong. However, all the mods, inside and out, are totally period correct (1980s). The original owner installed all the latest accessories for the time; Con-Ferr push bar, Carr nerf bars, chrome window shades, and Smittybuilt tube rear bumper. I installed the roof rack. The truck had a camper shell at some point prior to me. You can see the factory correct red primer in the photos, on all surfaces of the truck including around the rear window. I do not have any of the factory parts which were replaced. (ie: carb or exhaust manifold)I am still driving the truck.

    You are looking at a two owner, mostly all original, 1979 Toyota (hi-lux) shortbed pickup. This one year only combo was found in Northern Nevada. We are northeast of Lake Tahoe, in the Reno area. We have a very dry climate, 4000 foot plus elevation with little rain or snowfall anually.The drivetrain mods were done partly by the original owner. Those are the webber carb, header, and 16 gallon steel fuel tank (shown in pics).I have owned the truck since 2016 and i added a new radiator, GM one wire 140 amp alternator, and the taller air filter.This is still running the original 20R engine and four speed transmission. Both are smooth as glass. The transfer case has not been apart and is smooth as glass in all positions.While the speedo shows only 31,800 miles, i believe it has only been around once since new.This truck also has the center, two gauge console. One of the gauges has been replaced with another brand. It still has the Clifford alarm keypad on the dash, which was the way i found it.This truck has factory A/C and power steering. The A/C compressor spins freely but has never run a belt since i have owned it. The power steering works flawlessly. I have added a new radiaitor is in factory configuration with a bench seat from a 1982 truck. I have kept it covered since i bought it. I show the dash as it is cracked. I have kept it covered since i bought the truck. As shown in pics.The dash was already modified for a single din radio. So i have added a bluetooth radio with a passive subwoofer and quality door speaker separates.This gem is totally complete. The body has never been cut in any way. And it has extremely little rust as shown in the detailed photos.The first owner installed a bolt-in roll cage. I covered it as i became tired of hitting my head on the bars.I have installed the Black Rhino 17” wheels. I chose a 285/70/17 (approx 34”) ten ply radial tires. When i purchased the truck it had ruined aluminum roller wheels. The stock wheels did not come with the truck. I am including a stock chrome 15” wheel with 33x9.50x15 bfg mud tire.
