    Description

    The 1982 WORLD'S FAIR - KNOXVILLE TENNESSEE mini cup, mini saucer on display.
    Cup and plate are made out of ceramic.
    Cup has gold color lettering "the 1982 World's Fair".
    The plate shows the famous Sunsphere. Black lettering. Gold rim.
    Display is made out of plastic.
    Cup is 2" diam. (2.5" including handle) x 1.25" high. Plate is 3.5" diam.
    The 3 items are in Very Good condition. No chips, cracks, repairs, etc. There's a little bit of gold decoration lost on plate's rim. Please check photos.
    The 1982 World's Fair, formally known as the Knoxville International Energy Exposition, was held in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. The theme of the exposition was "Energy Turns the World."
    It opened on May 1, 1982, and closed on October 31, 1982, after receiving over 11 million visitors. The Sunsphere, a 266-foot (81 m) steel tower topped with a five-story gold globe, was built for the 1982 World's Fair. It still stands and remains a symbol for the city of Knoxville.
