    Description

    TWO
    SHELL
    FOSSILS
    in
    IGNEOUS
    ROCK
The two rocks beige in color, probably sandstone. They were unearthed in
    Northern Minnesota
    .
    The larger has the
    gill imprint from a shell
    or coral
    of about 1” in length.
There are also about 3 small round imprints near the shell imprint.
    The
smaller rock has two imprints from shell, coral,
or gills, one about an inch long and the other simply a series of curving lines, about ½”.
    The larger rock measures 1-1/2” x 2”; the smaller measures about 1” x 2”.
The larger rock has a crack in it and is two-tone, the darker beige being
rougher than the smooth lighter beige areas.
One side of the smaller rock is darker and slightly more rough in texture.
These were rocks at the bottom of a prehistoric ocean, showing its marine life ~
