FFS Falcon Vise - Rotating Head Vise - Adjustable Vise Jaw Angle
The Falcon vise is a heavier vise the typical beginner's vise, the Super AA vise. In addition, the Falcon Vise has an adjustable vise angle and a rock-solid cam lever to close the vise jaws. Plus, you can turn the fly 360 degrees without removing the hook from the vise jaws.
When you tie flies, materials need to be placed in contact with the hook shank. Different tiers find that a slightly different angle makes it easier to use the vise as a hand rest and place materials at the same time. In his book
Advanced Fly Tying
, A. K. Best spends several pages on the correct grip and hand placement for applying materials to the hook. The angle of the vise determines the angle of your hand, which controls the placement of the materials. Better vise angle, better hand position, better material placement: the result is better, easier flies.
Some flies, like the Clouser and Deep Clouser are tied on both top and bottom of the hook shank. Using this vise, you'll be able to turn the hook to tie on both sides (or just to look at the other side of the fly) without removing it from the vise.

Notes to Buyers
Ebay has changed the way stock is handled. If you place an order for an item and do not pay immediately, it may remain on sale. In this case, it is possible that the item you purchase will not be available when you complete the sale. Please pay for all items as quickly as possible.

Please read product titles and descriptions carefully. In some cases photographs show multiple pieces for comparison or reference purposes. A product listing for a "Short Bobbin" that shows two bobbins (a short and a long) is for a single bobbin, not both pictured bobbins. The long bobbin is shown for comparison. Similarly a listing for a small item may show a photo of small, medium, and long.
USPS increased rates on small package shipments in 2016. Shipping prices reflect these increases.
