    Description

Fossil Crab from Galveston Island, Texas. Claw found 12/3/22 at "D" site. This is from a small sized crab.
These fossils are not natural to the beach, but are found as a result of recent beach nourishment projects. The actual origin is Galveston Bay beneath deep sediment and seafloor that has been dredged. The study of these creatures would be all but impossible otherwise. They are finite in number as well and certain specimens are comparatively rare, for instance fish, round carapace similar to the rock crab, and shrimp. They are priced accordingly and are genuine souvenirs of Galveston. Some specimens are actually unknown to myself and yet a mystery. Superb condition and complete condition are also rare. Collecting these fossils is the topic of my forthcoming book which will hopefully be available next month. These are unique items and a special addition to any fossil collection. Thank you, Steven
