    Description

This is a beautifully preserved shrimp,
    Carpopenaeus callirostris
, from the Cenomanian Formation. Hjoula, Lebanon. It dates from the middle Cretaceous about 90 million years ago.
The preservation of this shrimp is outstanding, the carapace and tail still have most of the shell intact, the tentacles and legs are articulated and clearly visible. The shrimp measures 1.0 inches from tip of front leg to where the body curves. It does not include the measurement for the tucked in tail or the long antennae.  There is a partial specimen lying next to it. The slab measures 3.1 inches long, 2.0 inches wide and 0.33 inches thick.
All of my fossils are guaranteed authentic and have been legally obtained.
