Goebel Madonna with Child & 5 angel Cherubs Beautiful condition 11"

This lovely unique Goebel Madonna is just shy of 11" tall x 6 1/4" w and 6 1/2" deep. Our beautiful Madonna is holding a baby in her left arm and an apple in her hand.
What is so unique and eye catching are the five faces of Cherubs, each one with eyes open.  Excellent choice of colors by the Goebel artists. The figurine has a "SACRART" label under the base and incised "Tschi 3" above the label.  There is a blue stamped Full Bee trademark, an incised date of 1956 and a black stamp of Germany near the bottom which means production occurred before the Berlin Wall was constructed.  Sculptors show "Tschirnich" worked for Goebel in 1956-1957.  "The Collector's Guide Volume One" by Werner Moderhack and Ray Wagner  show Tschi 6, page 168,  "Model bought and changed to HM 173 in 1959.  There is no crazing, no chips and no damage.  Considering the age of this piece that is amazing of itself.  Rare opportunity to purchase this rare early, 1956, Madonna. The Goebel factory started in 1871.
