Hofner resonator guitar

Description

This Hofner resonator guitar incorporates a Spider resonator and two sound holes. This guitar has a beautiful quilted maple body and a round maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. A single Hofner pick-up with volume and tone controls is fitted. Chrome hardware and Hofner antique brown sunburst finish complete the look of this bluegrass guitar.
This particular instrument has been modified to play LAP STYLE. The original bridge and nut have been removed and replaced with a bone Square Neck nut and Hard Maple Spider Bridge slotted 2 piece bridge.
The guitar is tuned to Bluegrass Open G (G B D G B D) and has brand new
GHS Professional Resonator nickel strings installed (Set 1600 – 16-18-28-36-46-56).
Notice that the strings are elevated off the fretboard, so it can be placed in your lap to be played with a steel or bullet (not included).
You could play it with finger picks on the right hand, bare fingers or with a plectrum.
This is a great sounding Bluegrass instrument for someone who plays acoustic and occasionally needs amplification via a pickup – but does not have ,500 to spend. Strap with strap lock buttons already installed on the guitar are included. The guitar can be easily switched back to traditional style guitar by purchasing a standard nut and sanding down the bridge bases to match your desired bridge height. The bridge inserts are easily removed when the strings are off.
This has been very lightly used, no major dings. Sorry about the finger print smudges in the photos. I didn’t see that until I had already taken the photos.
The quilted body is just gorgeous and has to be seen to be appreciated!
