Description
Original circa 1920s Stella 12-string guitar, built by the Oscar Schmidt Company in Jersey City, New Jersey. Back then Stella was about your only choice for a good 12-string, and were the favored instruments of Leadbelly, Barbecue Bob, Lonnie Johnson and Blind Willie McTell. In more recent decades, Leo Kottke, Stefan Grossman.The lower bout of the body is 14 ¾” across, while the upper bout is 10 ¼”. It is just under 4” deep. The overall length of the guitar is 41 ½”. Weighs 3.5 pounds.
Should be restored by a trusted professional if you want to play it.
Has wear and some damage to the back and a bit in the front. Original label and original tuners. Comes with hard case.
