Description
Above is a photograph of the elements contained in our "Full Form" lamp kits. For purposes of clear demonstration, we are using our 16" Fuchsia kit as the demonstration photo. On the left are what we refer to as "WINDOWS
' These are used to find appropriate areas in the glass for the flowers, leaves, and background. The white areas inside the black are cut out, and the "window" is placed on the glass sheet and moved around until appropriate shading ,coloring, etc. is found for the piece being worked on. At the top center is the
FIBERGLASS FORM
The glass pieces, once cut, are affixed to this form with wax. Once all the pieces are wrapped with copper foil and affixed to the form, the lamp can be soldered - on the form - and removed for finishing. At the center bottom is the
CONSTRUCTION MANUAL
The manual is a very detailed, step by step, dissertation on the construction of this particular lamp. The manual allows anyone - regardless of their level of expertise - to construct a quality lamp shade. On the right are the
PATTERN SHEETS
Top right is the mylar copy which is cut apart and used as templates to cut the glass. There are two paper patterns: a "reference" copy which is colored or painted to approximate the finished product you are aiming for and is used as a guide for glass selection and placement, and a "holding" copy which is used to hold the mylar pattern pieces in an orderly fashion between cutting "repeats". (Most lamps repeat a 1/3rd segment of thepieces from each template.)
These kits
DO NOT CONTAIN
the glass itself only what you see in the picture.
