Unusual Ceramic NUN, Bell, 9"

Description

Another of my nuns that has special memories.  We had a parish priest, who has since died.  He used to stop over here for chili soup.  He loved my collection of nuns.  He had a real life sister who was a nun.  I believe he told me she made this but I cannot be sure.  It is approx. 9" tall.  It is a bell with an unusually shaped "ringer" attached with a strip of leather.  There is less than a 2 cm chip on the back down by the hem of her habit and you can't see it from the front.  The leather piece that attaches the ringer comes up thru the top of her veil. I guess you could hang it if you wanted, but I never did.  I really miss Fr. Trick.  Great family friend and he married 2 of my boys.  Wish I wasn't getting old and had to start selling my girls!!!
I have over 250 nuns which I will be selling over the next few months.  It's going to take me that long!  My kids have informed me that they don't want them when I die!  I started collecting about 30 years ago.  Our church choir did a
rendition
of "Sister Act" and travelled all over the state of Ohio and performed for groups.  That started my collection!  I also grew up a cradle catholic, attended Catholic schools, had MANY nuns for teachers.  Also had 2 aunts who were

Blood nuns and 2 sisters who were in the convent.  My nuns were either purchased at antique stores, flea markets, garage sales or some new. Many were gifts. They are mostly OLD but have been lovingly displayed in a cabinet for 30 years and not played with.  Any imperfections were there when I purchased them.  Have fun looking around and "save" me as a favorite seller if you want to check back.  Nun collectors are RARE!
