Description
Vintage Original 1966 Jose Ramirez Parlor Guitar in as found unrestored condition. Constructed with tradional straight bracing; 2pc. spruce top; 1pc. mohogany back & mohogany sides; maple neck (?); slotted headstock with original side mounted tuners; ebony fretboard with brass frets & brass markers. Length =37.5" ; lowerbout=12.5" ; upper bout =9.25" ; depth
tapered 3.25" to 3.50" ; nut =41.25mm
scale =615.95mm ; action @ 12th fret
6.35mm. The brass spanish coin on the headstock dated 1943 wss probably attached by the original owner. The number on the neck block reads 641107. Condition is great with no cracks but the original red satin finish has a few scratches and signs of paint loss along the edges of the body and neck area (see photos). Although guitar plays well and sounds remarkable, I recommend string replacement and replacing the old tuning assembly due to weaking and loss of string tension after playing. Parlor guitars made by Ramirez are very hard to locate especially from the 60's due to the big interest in dreadnoughts during that period. I'm assuming that this one represents a revival of earlier examples made by Ramirez after finding one from 1920 with similarities in the sound hole design, the brass frets, and the bare metal tuner bushing reamers. It will be packed and shipped for free within the U.S. A case IS NOT! included. Good luck!
