We are sorry to inform you that all of our prices will be increasing very shortly because of eBay’s new managed payment system and because of increases in shipping fees across the board.
EBay has decided to start charging sellers commissions not only on the sale price of the item but also on shipping fees and taxes.
What this means is where a seller may have only paid eBay & PayPal .50 in commissions and fees for a item for the sale price only, a seller must now pay eBay commissions on the sale price, the shipping cost (let’s say .00) and the tax ({{detail_product_description}}.85 for a state taxing 8.5% sales tax) and a fixed per-sale fee!
That can be as high as .56 for the same item!
What does this mean for the seller?
The difference is that the seller must now charge MORE for the same item because eBay is cutting into the little margin that the seller was making in profit AND because of increases in shipping charges.
This will be most noticeable on the lower cost items costing less so it will be IMPOSSIBLE for the seller to make anything on the sale of these items once those additional commissions and fees are factored in!
So the INCREASE is NOT going to the seller---it is going to eBay and the shipping companies!
The seller is for the most part making the same profit on each item but the item costs more and eBay’s commission is more because they are now making commissions on the TOTAL PRICE that the buyer pays and the increases in shipping charges!
EBay now makes money on the TOTAL PRICE PAID---Including shipping!
Including Sales Taxes!
YES------EVERYTHING!
The second bit of bad news is that shipping using USPS has changed over the past year or so for package first-class mail and new plans are in place to increase fees once again!
Instead of charging a flat rate like .64 for anything 4 ounces and under going anywhere in the USA the rate is now calculated by zones.
The same package may cost as much as .26 instead of .64 to ship cross-country.
That is {{detail_product_description}}.62 more for sending a small little 4 ounce package!
(Other shipping companies like UPS, FEDEX, DHL, and more are also increasing their fees)
So figure the {{detail_product_description}}.62 increase in shipping and the increase in eBay commissions it now comes out to a significant amount percentage-wise for the same or item.
And that is with the seller making the same exact money!
So the item now must sell for about .50 for the seller to make the same little margin while everyone else is making more money!
So the item MUST now sell for over 10% more so that everyone else can get their increases—
BUT NOT THE SELLER!
